The rolling stones of the Great Ocean Road

Image
6 days later and we have basically completed the Great Ocean Road, as you can guess it was a road along the ocean and yup, it was pretty great. There are ( and i am not over exaggerating this one) about a 1,000 lookouts along the way, and in the beginning we pulled over to almost every one until we got bored of looking at the ocean and rocks. Amazing view but even ocean and rocks gets a little overdone after awhile. There are a lot of little tourist towns all along the way, and a lot of little gems. When thinking about it, its pretty amazing how every single person has a different experience along it and its a straight road. On our very first day we stopped at a beach where lava met ocean and had created many sea caves that you were able to walk along and under. There were hanging rocks and many little rock pools and a weird type of seaweed lining the rocks that almost feels like bubble wrap against your feet which was fun and felt weird beneath your feet. We were exploring around and ...

Yoshi and I just had the best mini vacation that no money could buy. We left Melbourne and headed to a posh beach town named Mornington, and it was a mini off the map paradise. We ended up spending 4 nights here after only planning one. It was just one of those places that has the power to relax you instantaneously, and catches you in its little web of bliss. On that note we really didn't do much other than take long walks on the beach, nap, swim and eat. Life was pretty damn hard as you can see. We also spent Yoshis 22nd birthday on Phillip Island which was a incredibly beautiful spot. Yoshi said it reminded him more of New Zealand than Australia and I can see how that could be true, it was full of rolling colourful hills and Cliff headed sea walls. Zebra shell I discovered.  The whole beach was lined with yellow sand and these little beach houses. Used by rich people who can't be bothered taking things to and from the beach and have little houses to hold it instea...

That was probably the fastest flying week of the trip yet. It feels like just yesterday i got to the airport and ran into Kelsey's arms, and now she's off on her own again finishing up her time in Australia in Sydney :( I miss her already. We finished up the week visiting the Melbourne musuem which was awesome. Minus the "Phar Lap" exhibit, a horse that every Australian loves dearly due to his unusual amount of races he won back in 20's and gave hope in the depression. Yoshi was going nuts and me and Kelsey were worried for his well being, I think he is secretly planning a Phar Lap tattoo... We went to a few bars in Melbourne which were nice and pretty fancy, one you had to elevator it to get to different floors with security guards everywhere. We also went to some not so fancy bar like the "Asian beer garden" interesting name and cheap beers. We had a very loungy day and spent out last day together going to the Art gallery and drinking a lot of choc...
