Island "hop"
Hello people of the interweb, I have returned! And apparently freaked some of you out with the no update for a week, I apologize I didn't realize the island (Koh Son Samloem) we were headed too had no electricity, plus we had no plans to stay as long as we did.
What a week it was! Definetly the best
Place we have been yet. To start off we stayed in a dorm called "Easy Tiger" and as soon as we got there we met a group of 6 British kids our age travelling together and teaching English, they were super fun to share a dorm with! Actually the entire beach was full of English people.. One guy told me he calls it "The British Riviera" ha-ha Actually we met a lot of great people here, it was a hard goodbye.
The main beach was a 7 minute walk and everyday we went we had it completely to ourselves or shared it with one person.. It was great!! Espicially compared to its brother Island Koh Ron which is full of the spring break feel, yay..
I went for my first scuba dives of the trip, run by two old British guys (of course) who I couldn't to save my life understand half of what they were saying.
It wasn't mind blowing but it was great to get back into the water, see some different species of fish and get a refresher on everything. Unfortunately i now have a nasty ear infection from it, And being on an island with no doctor or hospital I basically have just had to ride it out the last few days. Last night was a bad sleep, and I basically cried in self pity and pain mostly from lack of sleep. But we are back in the city now and I'll see a doctor or get some more antibiotics ( the dive shop gave me a few today).
One of the best nights was when we went swimming off the pier, the plankton at night light up when you swim and it's like being in the stars. Seriously you look up at the big night sky and see bright stars and then look down and you are holding stars, it's magical.
Natalie and I also become very close with the owner Of easy tiger Neil, and he saw her drawing one night and asked her to paint him a mural. So she put me to work and designed a beautiful peice of work, we worked on it for a few days and got almost free room and food, it was awesome!
Our next stop is Kampot! We are meeting up with an Irish couple we made friends with on the island and going together,
I think we will be here for my birthday too. Natalie has to keep reminding me that it's Coming up 🎂
Will be thinking of you on your 19th birthday. Lots of love!
