42 Wallaby Way

Well, unfortunately we didn't find Nemo in Sydney, but we definitely found a whole lot of seagulls and entertaining things to do and see, Yoshi and I stayed with some friends, Sean and Jenny, they both live in Sydney and Sean is studying at UOS, They were our official tour guides for the weekend, and did a great job. It's always so much better when somebody who really knows the in and outs of a place show you around, i find you learn more about what your seeing as well. We got to Sydney yesterday late afternoon and just turned the day to dusk while walking through Newtown. A cool street full of hipster shops and bars, we had an early night to make sure we made the most of our day.  We started the day off taking a bus to Bondi beach, and walking along the "sculpture walk" that goes along the ocean. The day started off almost too hot then quickly changed to insanely windy and cooled down, although we did manage to make it all the way across the sea wall, at the very end we got caught in the storm and ended up running through the rainy streets to catch our next bus. It was one of those times when if your alone going through it, it totally sucks, but when your with friends its a hell of a good memory.

Just a few, mostly my favorites of the sculptures we saw

We sat and watched skaters attack this bowl which has a vertical that is insane, one of the most iconic and famous skate spots in Australia

The storm that was rolling onto the coast, crazy looking clouds all afternoon!

Bondi Beach landscapes

After that the rain thankfully stopped, and we were able to go walking through the city. We first went to Martin Place which is full of office buildings and the ritzy part of town were you shop for Prada hand purses then spend an arm and a leg for a bite size meal. It was also full of skate spots all of which Yoshi pointed out. We got to go to a mini food market, we all got kebab wraps. They were deadly, tasted even better after walking the entire morning, Then we got to see the famous opera house, which for the record is not as white as i expected in person! It was surrounded by some of the largest cruise ships i have ever seen in a city, it almost made the opera house itself look small in comparison. We sat at the harbor for awhile, while Chet Faker did a sound check for his concert that evening which was sounding amazing, After goofing around for awhile we decided that our feet were pretty warn down and decided to head home, but not before seeing the botanical gardens. Pretty incredible, rare to see such a huge garden with such an extensive city skape behind it. There was enormous trees from all over the world and special garden areas like for instance a fern garden, an oriental garden and my favorite the succulent garden. Then we took the train home and went out for burgers and TOFU ICE CREAM. Happiness in a cup, getting to enjoy ice cream without it making me incredibly sick, yes please!

Big city

A soldier spreading awareness of remembrance day

Like i said. Big boat

My final decision on Sydney is that its a really fun place to see, even if we only got one day to see it, I personally don't think i could live there even with there being an endless amount of things to do. The people unfortunately are also very unfriendly, especially when they hear my Canadian accent and just disregard me as another tourist. But we all had a great time but now its time to get back to work again, as Yoshi and I are going to back to fruit picking. This time picking cherries in a town by the name of Shepparton, I've heard from many people that its the best fruit to pick, and that you make more money especially if your a women, hopefully Yoshi and i don't get too competitive, but bring it on baby!

  1. Skate parks along the ocean, brilliant. II found myself staring at the beach shots foran extended period of time, lovely shots. I can see myself sitting and watching those waves roll in and out on those rocks for a while. Very pretty there Indeed. Too bad the people in Sydney were not as nice as you thought they'd be. Safe journeys. Love ya
