Another day another dolla

After a two month search i have finally found a stable job. After Sydney we went to a boring town by the name of Shepparton following the cherry season. Unfortunately for us, its a bad season for cherries, just our luck. We tried it for too days and made maybe 50 bucks, due to a tornado that had passed through the town just before we got there and destroyed the crops. So we went to the harvest job employment centre and the lady who was running a mile minute was at first discouraging, gave us a job chipping weeds in the town over by the name if Echuca. So we left behind the free showers and $6 kebabs which was all Shepparton really had to offer and moved on. Chipping is utterly dull but pays entirely well. You walk up and down 500m rows full of tomato plants and shovel away the weeds, its a great job when you get to talk with the other people and get to know them and the weather conditions are good. But our supervisor changes from time to time and though all are very nice, they have different levels of strictness and expectations. Today we worked our hottest day yet, a balmy 36 degrees and tomorrow pray for us because its 40 plus day. People energy today were dropping almost as much as the flies that cling to your eyes for moisture. Seriously i have never seen such a huge fly problem then down south in Victoria, there are millions of fly's constantly touching you and clinging to your face going into your nose and ears and if i had to stay any longer i would go bat shit crazy, to be blunt. Actually, i don't think my ADD could take doing this job longer than 3 weeks, and some people have already been doing it for 2 months or more. I'm excited to power through the next two weeks and go to the promised land of Melbourne, which i have yet to hear a complaint about it other than "its expensive." I am also ready to really start travelling without having a constant worry in the back of my head about finding job and making money. Hopefully we can do some travelling with some of our new friends too.

Me and my hoe, I also sprained my hand somehow second day on the job and had to invest in a hand brace. It did the job and I'm good to go now, and with my track record in sure it will come in handy again soon 😑

Endless rows.

Fly net, dorky hat, and required high vis shirt. So Australian it hurts my Canadian soul
