When life gives you Lemons

Maybe it wasn't needed, maybe it was either way our week long mini vacation has come to an end.
We started it off by driving to Newcastle for This That music festival, we spent the day checking out the scenery and swimming in the "ocean pools." When i heard about them i thought it was pretty pathetic, why swim in a man made pool with the same water that is exactly beside it but is the most amazing thing on our planet aka the ocean? But after checking it out i can see how they are much needed, the waves somedays are out of control and is unsafe to swim in, which i hope you can tell just based off these photographs. There was a man who decided to test the limits and hold on the chain for dear life, every-time a wave came crashing it also took him crashing down with it while his girlfriend cheered safely from thesidelines.

The Festival its self was incredibly fun, I've never gone to concerts with that big of a group of people and you can do a lot of damage with 8 people let me tell yeah. The best act was Sticky Fingers, hes not as famous in Canada as he is in Australia, and Australia loves themselves some SF. His music is pretty chillaxed but with the amount of people desperately pushing to get to the front ( as we were third row baby!) the mosh pit was pretty life or death and we were struggling to breath and clinging on to the people around us for dear life, it was pretty funny how much of a support system we made with everybody though, if there was a man down you had 6 people pulling you up before you got trampled, we were all in it together, The rest of the shows weren't as full on but just as good, lots of dance music from Rufus, kite string tangle, and birds of Tokyo and so on. We also had some pretty damn good food from the food stalls that were set up, which i'm sure all of which made bank that evening.

After that we were all over the coast, going to numerous camp sites, and beaches. The most beautiful spot we stopped in was Gap creek. There was the most beautiful waterfall spot, there wasn't much water falling at all but it was so untouched the stone with bright green trees and roots coming from it and the tranquility made us all just calm and quite. It was so untouched that the climb up was almost a free climb on all four limbs, absolutely worth every second, but it always is. The forest was thick and lush and the kangaroos were insanely friendly, i got to hold and feed and pet them, Yoshi even stole a kiss from one guy. They look hilarious how they use their tails to stand tall on their feet, the birds are also much more colorful and loud than in Canada, Yoshi and I always have fun just watching what they do in their day, just like they watch us sometimes i guess.

We made some really wonderful memories with eachother, and this is the last time i'll see them for quite some time, Now Yoshi and i are going to back to work, we will either be picking cherries or working on a flower farm, probably doing a bit of both in the end. I spent most of my blueberry picking earnings already, oh well. I rather and look back and remember all our great times together rather than making money, Especially with friends as special as the ones i am lucky enough to have.

  1. Never turn your back on a wave!!!! The Australian surf is wild and dangerous! After a few knockdowns I learned to just enjoy the sights from a safe place, like you. Yoshi probably is a really strong swimmer like most Australian guys, so he's seen it all. But those waves by the fence look especially dangerous.
Love the kangaroos. Look for a lorikeet- my favorite Australian bird, followed by the kookaburra.
Mish pits sound scary and sweaty!
