Little house in the city

Everyday i open my cellphone and longingly look at the blogger app knowing full well that i have been avoiding it. It is hard to feel passionate about writing when life has become much more stagnant. The adventure has died down and day to day life isn't as eye opening and my comfort zone is not being pushed, thus resulting in my laziness of blogging. I have just gotten over some sort of weekend sickness, food poisoning or flu i don't know the main cause, but i find when i am stuck in bed all day against my own will I have a surge of motivation and am inspired to do all the things i talk about doing. Like this blog for example, i have taken it upon myself to redo the garden in our back yard, might be a bigger task than i think but i'm determined to make some garden magic happen! The house has been treating us well, our roommates are lovely and the couple we share the house with is adopting a kitten today, she is black with violet eyes. I have taken an arrangement of photos to walk you through our quaint home and give you an idea of "boring" day to day life in the big city!

Lush and shady spot front of the house, Yoshi and I eat dinner here a lot.

Street view. All the houses in our area are brick and resemble the houses in New Orleans, they all have the intricate trimming? i think the word is. I love how all the houses are similar yet unique.

Our bedroom. Usually a little bit messy as we both get up before 5 am for work and leave it a bit cluttered. But its a bright room, the fireplace that still works is my favorite feature, i have put succulents and flowers all over to give it life and make it really feel like home.

Ah the kitchen... no matter how many times you clean it if you come back in an hour it's dirty again. Usually you have a 10 second rule if anything hits the floor but in this house, straight in the garbage.
The north facing window, which as you can see has a little couch we can sneak out too out of our bedroom window, not sure how it got our there or how long it has been there but its got a beautiful view of the neighbors fence and is a home to many spiders.

And of course the lounge room.. where we have spent lots of our time sleeping in.

The homiest of backyards, this picture nicely featuring my new bike my friend has given to me. Its a blue cruiser with rusty chains and no gears, but it feels so nice to be able to ride again.

Our room mates against the clutter.

And my favorite the roof, where we can sneak onto, steal figs and limes from the neighbors over flowing tree, watch the sunset and have a view of the city. You can tell there are a lot of memories trapped up here.

Just a few short months until we are home, where my endeavors come to a nice calm and Yoshi's will be just beginning. That being said coming home will unfold with its own different sort of adventures as well. I am starting to feel very ready and even more excited to come back and see all my beloved friends and family, feels like forever ago now since I have last seen everybody. Working has been good, starting to learn coffee and i must say the cafe i work at makes one of the best soy lattes i have had yet, it's always a struggle trying to find a nice one. Hopefully by the end I will be a barista wizard. We are located in the busy CBD and deal with mostly business driven people, lots of whom come in and have their meetings in the cafe. Which has its up and downs, i don't feel as connected to most costumers as all they want is for you to bring them their coffee and leave them to what they came for, The busy-ness is manageable most days, which passes the time quickly. Next weekend we are going to back to one of my personal favorite places Mornington beach to get away and also celebrate 6 months of being together (craziness.) There are also quite a few festivals and markets coming up in the fall season in Melbourne, i plan to attend as many as possible as well as go to the outdoor drive in which is 20 minutes away from our beloved Batman street. That's right, we live on Batman street, off Alfred street. Nice one Melbourne!
