All good things must come to an end

I have a feeling that this will be my last and final blog.. so let's go out with a bang shall we? Our two weeks journey from Melbourne to Canada have been filled with many unexpected events and feelings, which is always apart of the great adventure of travelling. We started the three day journey to Yoshi's parents by making a larger detour than expected, heading to the Blue Mountains outside of Sydney. Unfortunately instead of getting to see the picturesque views of the valley, it was hidden away behind a dense sheet of fog. The town itself was similar to that of Canada's mountain towns, built on hills with comparable architecture. We tried to make it worthwhile as we strolled around with some coffee's and ducked into pawn and vintage shops. After finally accepting defeat, we headed towards Coff's Harbour. Where we used to camp and pick blueberry's on the very start of our grand aussie adventure. We slept at what i still think is my favorite spots tha...

Home

I am not entirely sure if anybody except for grandpa, (hi grandpa!) reads or checks my blog anymore but I woke up with a a lust to write so this ones for you gramps. I have two weeks left in Melbourne and even that is hard to believe. I have grown to really love this city, although i have never considered myself much of city slicker, even if it was for a short 3 months and a half. I will greatly miss the family who i babysit for every other day, and even their hairless cat Neo. I will miss riding the tram every mornings to the cafe for work, watching as the sun comes up over all the houses and skyscrapers. I will miss being surrounded by amazing art everywhere you go, all my now favorite cafes and restaurants, and of course all the beautiful friends I have gotten the pleasure of making. Even with Asia, i mentioned once before that every time i left somewhere i got a sudden surge of anxiety, scared that i didn't see it all or do everything i could have while being there. Even now ...

Little house in the city

Everyday i open my cellphone and longingly look at the blogger app knowing full well that i have been avoiding it. It is hard to feel passionate about writing when life has become much more stagnant. The adventure has died down and day to day life isn't as eye opening and my comfort zone is not being pushed, thus resulting in my laziness of blogging. I have just gotten over some sort of weekend sickness, food poisoning or flu i don't know the main cause, but i find when i am stuck in bed all day against my own will I have a surge of motivation and am inspired to do all the things i talk about doing. Like this blog for example, i have taken it upon myself to redo the garden in our back yard, might be a bigger task than i think but i'm determined to make some garden magic happen! The house has been treating us well, our roommates are lovely and the couple we share the house with is adopting a kitten today, she is black with violet eyes. I have taken an arrangement of photos t...

The rolling stones of the Great Ocean Road

Image
6 days later and we have basically completed the Great Ocean Road, as you can guess it was a road along the ocean and yup, it was pretty great. There are ( and i am not over exaggerating this one) about a 1,000 lookouts along the way, and in the beginning we pulled over to almost every one until we got bored of looking at the ocean and rocks. Amazing view but even ocean and rocks gets a little overdone after awhile. There are a lot of little tourist towns all along the way, and a lot of little gems. When thinking about it, its pretty amazing how every single person has a different experience along it and its a straight road. On our very first day we stopped at a beach where lava met ocean and had created many sea caves that you were able to walk along and under. There were hanging rocks and many little rock pools and a weird type of seaweed lining the rocks that almost feels like bubble wrap against your feet which was fun and felt weird beneath your feet. We were exploring around and ...
