Barf day

Image
Sooo Probably the best birthday, yet? Maybe ever? Spent the morning kyaking down the Kampot river. Super beautiful and something I've wanted to do since we got here. Skyped with family which made my entire day that much better. And then went to a spa... I don't know if I actually like spas or not, don't get me wrong it was extremely relaxing but being dotted on isn't really my thing. Minus a head Massage, in fact if anybody in Saskatoon or Fernie wants to make a deal with me,  I help you help me, baddabing baddaboom , we can make this a weekly Thing and help each other out.  After the spa we went back home and I put on makeup for the first time in about a year and went downstairs to have the champagne(finally) the place we are staying at surprised me with a cake and candle and sang me happy birthday and it was the sweetest thing.  Then we went to the bar with our Irish buds and finished the night off. Had my First ever alcoholic beverage because No...

Kampot 💖

What an impressive little town! Nat and I got here and ended up at a French ran guesthouse that is beautiful, a tad more Expensive than most places we have stayed but since we saved so much on the island we thought why not !   Our room  Balcony  View  And next door neighbour  We went exploring in town on free bikes that the guesthouse provides, the town is along a beautiful river and isn't too hot because of it, everybody here is insanely friendly, every child you pass waves furiously with a huge smile, the grown ups as well.  Disclosure: taking photos well biking is extremely sketchy.   Got some 2$ dumplings that were to Die for at a small place that was also a movie theatre, we met up with our Irish friends and they are seeing a French Canadian movie there tonight!  This random guy who was a little..odd sat with us for a few minutes and was carrying around a sweet puppy, thi...

Antibiotics & Champagne

Image
After another sleepless night thanks to the ear infection I finally have gone to the international clinic this morning and the doctor I kid you not, looked in my ear and went "ahhhhh!!!!" I guess it's pretty bad. He gave me some strong antibiotics and ear drops and sent me on my way, I already feel better.  The Cambodian doctor was really funny and nice.  On the way back I bought some super cheap champagne to Pop in a few days  Now time to get better and head to Kampot yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

Island "hop"

Hello people of the interweb, I have returned! And apparently freaked some of you out with the no update for a week, I apologize I didn't realize the island (Koh Son Samloem) we were headed too had no electricity, plus we had no plans to stay as long as we did. What a week it was! Definetly the best Place we have been yet. To start off we stayed in a dorm called "Easy Tiger" and as soon as we got there we met a group of 6 British kids our age travelling together and teaching English, they were super fun to share a dorm with! Actually the entire beach was full of English people.. One guy told me he calls it "The British Riviera" ha-ha Actually we met a lot of great people here, it was a hard goodbye.  The main beach was a 7 minute walk and everyday we went we had it completely to ourselves or shared it with one person.. It was great!! Espicially compared to its brother Island Koh Ron which is full of the spring break feel, yay..  I went for my first...

On to the next one

Today we are leaving Siem Riep at 7 to Sanoukville and going island hopping from there, as much as I loved this city I am STOKED for some ocean living! We spent the morning going for a swim in the pool and then cleaning up our room and re-packing our bags ( it was really refreshing not living out of a bag for a few days.)  Our plan was to return to the temples but the power went out last night due to the crazy storm and our phones were dead and didn't wake us, but it worked out because Ciroque our tuktuk drivers tire went flat anyways. So instead we went to the Cambodian War Museum and the Killing Field.  It was really educational, I had no idea Cambodia was in war for 30 years. The communist "hitler" Pol Pot killed over 3 million   Cambodian people for the sole purpose of them being Cambodian and he wanted it to be a Chinese nation. The best part of the museum was that our guide was an actual war veteran, he served for 10 years but spent 9 ...
