Warning: this is gross but...

This ones a laugh for the family.. I should probably mention that we left the temples a little early today... It's Halarious now that I've had a cold shower and real food but it wasn't funny a few hours ago. We were on the third temple and sitting on the side of it with our 2 new friends who are actually from Edmonton, and all we had was a mango and some water the whole morning and I decided Taking my Malaria medication on an empty stomache was an awesome idea just a few minutes before... So we are sitting there talking and suddenly I realized I was going to puke and so I'm sitting there while everybody's chatting literally trying not to die and then I jumped and kinda half yelled "WELL I gotta keep adventuring" and ran away and threw up... They probably think I'm a little crayyyzaaay now So yeah.. I threw up on a temple today.. Gross

Falling in love.

Cambodia is stealing my heart, i am truly loving it here. ❤️ We have the best TukTuk guy money can buy named Ciroque (yes like the fancy liqueur by PDiddy.) He is like our Cambodian father, he calls us "his tourists" and tells us all the tips and tricks of the city, he was even our tour guide today at the Angkor Wat temples.  Last night we went to the night market, pub street, had some awesome 1$ street food, met some awesome people, and even got a foot massage and nails done (first foot message and I felt like a princess :p .) the only issue was maybe we shouldn't have had the beers before going, might have made us think we needed to buy more stuff than maybe necessary. Today we went the Angkor Wat temples. They were cool, some better than others. We woke up at 4:30 to watch the "great sunrise behind the Angkor wat" aaaaand it really wasn't that great haha the lake we found beside it on the other hand? Breathtaking. And the monkey temple was m...

Welcome to crazy town. Aka Cambodia

I don't even know where to begin in painting you a picture of our last 2 two days, let's just say if we thought that last bus ride was crazy we were in for one hell of a reality check. Let me break it Down.  It started with a short 3 hour bus ride to the capital of Laos, at the bus stop we tried ordering some supper but the people wanted nothing to do with us so Pringles was our go to meal ( disclosure: we've had to eat a lot of  Pringles on these bus trips.) So we went looking for our bus and got reaal excited because our bus was a double deck sleeper bus and the beds looked GREAT.  So we get on the bus and just our luck find out that we have to share one of these beds... And then after goofing around for 20 minutes because we had the whole top floor to ourselves, the entire top deck filled with a big group of Loud Indian men, 3 of which were blasting seperate music sources because I guess headphones are optional.  They started quietting down fi...

Sketchy bus rides and insane rain showers

LTook a bus from LaungPrabang to Viang Vieng yesterday, was pretty freaky not going to lie... The view was amazing but in between a guy projectile vomiting, craaaazy rain showers, and mystery food it was a long afternoon and we were pretty tired after the 5 hours to town. It was raining all night and now into the morning though so we didn't miss much. Hopefully we find an adventure today.

The new monk on the block

Image
My eyes were wide open the whole day yesterday, we went to the most beautiful temples and even though it didn't sound that appealing we also went to the royal museum and it was actually really great. There are monks everywhere in Loas, I've never seen one monk in person let Alone the amount I've seen here, the monk school is on our block so you can imagine the sea of orange clothes and bald heads.  It's crazy hot here and around 2-3pm everybody in town seems to pack up and take a nap, but there is a funny loas saying "the Vietnamese do the work, the Thai harvest the work, and the Loasians watch the work being done." It isn't to say that they are lazy, but they definetly live a very laid-back lifestyle :)  Nighttime is the best time, we went to the famous night market and ate some crazy good food got some drinks and bought probably too much stuff, oh well. Some of the meat is pretty questionable... Ranging from turtles to S...

Oops.

Natalie and I just accidentally slept for 16 hours... We came back to the room to have a quick nap before going to the night market and slept all the way until this morning. Apparently we were extremely tired. I also almost knocked her out in the middle of the night because she left to go to the  bathroom and when she came back she half woke me and I totally Thought she was a small Asian man trying to break into our room.. I starred her down for a minute thinking of my best option to take her until I looked over and realized that no... It's just Natalie 😅 Today we will enjoy the real beauty of loas :) happy Mother's Day!
